To establish the basic plan, the city held three service report meetings and a public hearing with citizens since July last year, incorporating feedback from experts, stakeholders, and civic groups. In addition, continuous revisions and improvements were made through consulting with Korea Environment Corporation to ensure the plan aligns with local characteristics.
A city official stated, "The confirmation of this basic plan is a significant starting point toward a sustainable future," adding, "We will not only strive to host the 33rd Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP33) but also create a sustainable carbon-neutral city led by our citizens."
Meanwhile, the Yeosu City Basic Plan for Carbon Neutrality and Green Growth can be found on the Yeosu City Hall or Yeosu City Carbon Neutrality Support Center websites.
