SUV Drives in Wrong Direction and Collides with Car in Dangjin... Car Driver Dies
A fatal traffic accident caused by driving in the wrong direction occurred on a road in Dangjin, Chungnam.
According to the Dangjin Fire Station on the 8th, at around 10:14 p.m. the previous day, a hybrid SUV crossed the center line and drove in the wrong direction on Local Road No. 615 near Tongjeong-ri, Seokmun-myeon, colliding with a passenger car.
The SUV driver, identified as A, in his 30s, reported to the fire authorities that the driver of the passenger car, B (27), was trapped inside the vehicle after the accident.
B was rescued by the fire authorities but died from cardiac arrest while being transported to the hospital.
A refused to be transported to the hospital, saying, "I'm okay," and it was reported that he was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wrong-way driving.
The police and fire authorities are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
