DGIST Donates 10 Million Won for Wildfire Relief, Urges Support for Victims
DGIST (President Lee Geonwoo) delivered a donation of 10 million KRW to the Daegu Community Chest of Korea on the 8th to support recovery efforts from the wildfire damage in the Gyeongbuk region and to assist those affected.
This donation was raised to support residents who lost their homes due to the wildfire, with voluntary participation from all members of DGIST, including professors, researchers, and staff. DGIST joined this donation effort to share in the pain of the local community, and the collected funds will be used for disaster recovery and emergency livelihood support through the Daegu Community Chest of Korea.
Lee Geonwoo, President of DGIST, stated, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to those affected by the wildfire and sincerely hope you can return to your daily lives as soon as possible," adding, "As a leading educational and research institution representing Daegu and Gyeongbuk, DGIST will actively cooperate in developing technologies related to wildfire prevention and suppression in the future."
