"Let's Help Wildfire-Affected Areas"… 711 Employees of Jung-gu, Seoul Raise 21.57 Million Won
Jung-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Gil-seong) announced on the 8th that all employees voluntarily participated in a fundraising campaign to support the recovery from the recent forest fires in the Gyeongbuk region and aid the disaster victims.
The fundraising began on the 31st of last month with Mayor Kim Gil-seong of Jung-gu Office as the first donor, and by the 4th, 711 employees had joined, raising a total of 21.57 million KRW. The collected funds will be delivered through the Community Chest of Korea and used for recovery efforts and stabilizing the lives of disaster victims in severely affected areas such as Andong, Cheongsong, and Yeongdeok in Gyeongbuk.
The district plans to continue the fundraising campaign centered on the local community until the 30th of this month to support forest fire recovery. Earlier, on the 1st, the district delivered emergency relief supplies worth a total of 41.7 million KRW, including instant rice, cup noodles, and socks, collected from local residents, district office employees, and various departments to the affected areas. Priority support was given to the three regions of Andong, Cheongsong, and Yeongdeok, where employees' families reside.
