The presidential election, held due to the impeachment of former President Yoon Seok-yeol, has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 3.
A government official stated in a phone interview with Asia Economy on the 7th that the relevant agenda will be presented at the regular Cabinet meeting tomorrow, where the election date will be finalized and announced.
The official said, "The designation of the election date is an important agenda, and since there is also the issue of designating the election day as a temporary holiday, it will be resolved through the Cabinet meeting," adding, "June 3 has been tentatively decided as the election date."
