On October 25 last year, a practical drill simulating an electric vehicle fire at LG Science Park was conducted with the participation of over 15,000 personnel from 23 organizations, including Gangseo Fire Station, Gangseo Police Station, and LG Science Park.
The district focused on extinguishing the electric vehicle fire, joint response with the management entity of LG Science Park, integrated linked training using the disaster safety communication network, and on-site response by the integrated support headquarters such as cleaning and disinfection during the drill.
The establishment of a cooperative system among participating organizations and the execution of a drill similar to an actual situation were highly evaluated. In particular, the use of the disaster safety communication network (PS-LTE) for on-site communication and the actual demonstration of electric vehicle fire extinguishing equipment such as the smothering fire suppression cover and portable water tank attracted attention. Additionally, about 15,000 employees within LG Science Park actively participated in the evacuation drill, maximizing the training effect.
The evaluation was conducted based on 17 indicators including situation reception and dissemination, on-site drill execution, activation of disaster site response organizations, and the interest level of institution heads. The district received the highest score in all categories, achieving a perfect overall score.
The district plans to actively reflect the evaluation results and improvement points in disaster preparedness tasks and action manuals. In October this year, it plans to conduct more effective drills by expanding participation from the local autonomous disaster prevention group, volunteer fire brigade, and local residents.
