The first shared umbrella stand and used umbrella collection box were installed in the Rookie Zone of the Let's Run Park Busan-Gyeongnam grandstand. The shared umbrellas are available for use and return by any local resident at their discretion.
Umbrellas collected in the used umbrella collection box, installed alongside the shared umbrella stand, will be repaired by the 50+ Umbrella Repair Volunteer Group of the Gangseo-gu Volunteer Center. Umbrellas that cannot be repaired will be separated and disposed of properly, contributing to environmental protection and recycling, and helping to create a sustainable urban environment.
Um Youngseok, Director of Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters, said, "Through the shared umbrella stand, we hope to help local residents conveniently use umbrellas when needed and reduce unnecessary resource waste, thereby practicing carbon neutrality. We will continue to create sustainable value and grow together with the local community through cooperation."
Korea Racing Authority Busan-Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters plans to continue expanding the culture of sharing by installing and managing shared umbrella stands in more locations in collaboration with the Gangseo-gu Volunteer Center in Busan.
