Putin Envoy Returning from US Visit Says "It Was Positive and Constructive"
Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia's special envoy, concluded his visit to the United States, describing it as "positive and constructive."
Kiril Dmitriev, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Putin's special envoy for overseas investment and economic cooperation, posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) on the 5th (local time), saying, "I want to thank everyone for a positive, frank, and constructive visit."

View original imageEarlier, Dmitriev officially confirmed his visit to the U.S. on April 3 via Telegram, stating, "On April 2-3, under President Putin's instructions, I am meeting with representatives of the Trump administration in Washington."
Subsequently, in interviews with Russian and American media, he revealed that discussions were held with the U.S. side on economic cooperation including the rare earth sector and the resumption of direct flight routes, as well as ways to restore bilateral relations.
Amid the stalemate in the ceasefire negotiations between Russia and Ukraine mediated by the U.S., there is hope that improving U.S.-Russia relations could provide a breakthrough for the ceasefire talks.

Regarding the Ukraine issue, Special Envoy Dmitriev acknowledged that differences remain with the Trump administration but emphasized that a diplomatic solution to end the conflict is possible, stating, "We are at the stage of thinking about how to find a long-term solution."
