Busan Gijang County to Host Various Cultural Events for 30th Anniversary of County Restoration

View original imageTo commemorate the remarkable growth achieved together with residents over the past 30 years since the reinstatement of Gijang-gun on March 1 this year, the county has prepared a range of events to instill pride among Gijang-gun citizens.
The main events include: ▲30th Anniversary Photo Exhibition ▲Street Performances (Busking) ▲Cheongsachorong Lantern Street ▲Mobile Cultural Delivery ‘Art Truck’ ▲Mobile Cinema ▲Various Side Events.
The ‘30th Anniversary Photo Exhibition’ will be held from April 25 to May 6 at Saemaeul Children’s Park in Gijang-eup. The exhibition will feature photographs highlighting the past and present of Gijang-gun, including nostalgic scenery, providing a space to view the county’s development at a glance.
Additionally, busking performances will take place at Saemaeul Children’s Park on April 26 and 27, and the Cheongsachorong Lantern Street will be set up from April 26 to May 3, spanning from Gijang Station to Gijang Market and Gijang-eupseong.
Other events include the ‘Art Truck’ on April 26, featuring various performances, experience programs, and a market on the lawn in front of Gijang-eupseong (Janggwanchung), and the ‘Mobile Cinema’ on May 3, where residents can enjoy a movie outdoors. These diverse cultural events are expected to bring together all Gijang-gun citizens in celebration of the county’s reinstatement.
In particular, side events such as ‘Wish Note Writing & Hanging’ will be held in conjunction with the photo exhibition and Cheongsachorong Lantern Street, allowing residents to participate by writing their own wish notes to express their hopes and expectations for Gijang-gun’s future.
Governor Jeong Jongbok stated, “We are preparing a variety of cultural events to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the county’s reinstatement together with our residents,” and added, “I hope many residents will participate, reflect on the significance of this milestone, and create cherished memories.”
