On this day, the wildfire prevention event “Safe Wheel” was attended by over 50 members from the Citizens’ Coalition for Safety Practice (Chairman Lee Sanggap) and the Emergency Volunteer Group (Leader Lee Sanggwang), who distributed promotional materials on wildfire prevention and safety guidelines.
Under the slogan “Let’s Protect Our Precious Forests with Our Own Hands,” posters containing wildfire prevention rules such as ▲prohibition of mountain entry ▲ban on burning in adjacent areas ▲ban on cooking ▲ban on burning near graves were distributed along the walking trails near Deoksu Park and other key locations.
At nearby Sudosan, which is at high risk for wildfires, on-site safety inspections were conducted to raise awareness about wildfires and encourage voluntary participation.
The city is prioritizing citizen safety by operating a 24-hour disaster communication system and strengthening patrols in towns and districts to ensure a prompt and effective response in case of wildfire outbreaks.
Heo Jungwook, Director of Urban Safety and Housing, expressed gratitude for citizens’ active cooperation and participation in restricting mountain entry and banning burning activities to prevent wildfires. He stated, “We will continue proactive guidance and promotional activities, and focus our administrative efforts during the Cheongmyeong and Hansik periods to ensure thorough wildfire prevention.”
