Chungnam Province Launches Wildfire Monitoring Activities Using Drones
Deploying Drones for Precision Surveillance in Wildfire-Prone Areas
Chungnam Province has launched wildfire surveillance activities using drone artificial intelligence.
View original imageChungnam Province announced on the 3rd that during the special wildfire countermeasure period, which runs until the 30th, it will conduct special surveillance activities in wildfire-prone areas within the province by utilizing a drone video artificial intelligence (AI) analysis system.
This special surveillance activity is being implemented in response to the nationwide declaration of the 'serious stage' of wildfire disasters, with the aim of using a scientific monitoring system to block the risk of large-scale wildfires at an early stage, ensure the safety of residents, and prevent wildfire damage in advance.
The surveillance activities will target 135 wildfire-prone areas within the province, where 15 city and county drone departments will conduct regular patrol flights. Through AI technology, they plan to closely monitor wildfire-causing factors such as trash burning or mountain clearing operations.
In addition, during special surveillance flights, high-performance speakers mounted on the drones will be used to broadcast wildfire prevention announcements, thereby enhancing on-site responsiveness.
The drone stations deployed for surveillance activities are unmanned systems that allow drones to automatically take off and land. Without separate manual operation, these systems can monitor wildfire-prone areas along designated routes.
