Expansion of Energy Portfolio Centered on Renewable and Offshore Wind Power
LS Eco Energy announced on the 3rd that its board of directors held a meeting and approved an amendment to the articles of incorporation to relocate its headquarters from LS Yongsan Tower in Seoul to the LS Cable Donghae plant in Donghae City, Gangwon Province.
The company explained that the headquarters relocation is "part of securing a base for the submarine cable business and establishing a growth foundation by strengthening collaboration synergy with LS Cable."
Recently, LS Eco Energy discussed cooperation on an offshore wind power project with the Vietnamese Minister of Industry and Trade and the state-owned enterprise PetroVietnam. This project is a large-scale initiative to transmit power generated at an offshore power complex in Vietnam to Singapore, and joint participation with LS Marine Solution is being considered.
Additionally, at the shareholders' meeting on the 26th, the company added offshore wind power and energy-related businesses to its articles of incorporation and expanded its portfolio in response to policy trends such as the Offshore Wind Power Special Act and the ‘West Coast Energy Expressway.’ Going forward, it plans to strengthen its role in the core supply chain through cooperation with LS Materials, LS Marine Solution, and others.
