LG announced that its top executives met with gifted students from science high schools and science and engineering talents pursuing master's and doctoral degrees at LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul on the 3rd, exchanging various research achievements and opinions.

View original imageOn this day, LG held the 'LG Tech Conference,' an invitation event aimed at securing science and engineering talents who will change customers' lives and lead the global market. The conference was attended by over 60 top executives from LG, including CEOs, CTOs, and CHOs of nine major LG affiliates, along with the invited science and engineering talents.
At this event, LG highlighted the importance of science and technology to science and engineering talents amid the trend of students flocking to medical schools, and shared LG's actual research achievements. Kwon Bong-seok, Vice Chairman of LG, said, "I am truly pleased to meet the outstanding individuals who will carry the future of science and technology in Korea," adding, "LG believes that technological capability is the source of competitiveness and spares no investment in securing R&D talents and creating the optimal research environment." He also emphasized, "I hope those present here will become the protagonists who change customers' lives and lead the global market together with LG."
Lee Hong-rak, Chief AI Scientist (CSAI) at LG AI Research, shared candidly in his keynote speech stories about dreaming of becoming a physicist while attending Seoul Science High School, how he developed an interest in AI research while studying physics and computer science at Seoul National University, and his experience researching AI at Stanford and the University of Michigan, where he was selected as one of the world's top 10 AI scholars, receiving great acclaim.
LG showed its commitment to early nurturing of science prodigies by inviting 27 science high school students to the event for the first time this year. The science high school students participated in an Innovation Gallery tour showcasing LG's innovative technologies and products, had lunch with LG senior employees who graduated from science high schools, attended special lectures by LG's technology leaders, and held discussions with senior employees. In the afternoon, a special lecture series called the 'Tech Session' by 27 of LG's technology leaders was held across six buildings at LG Science Park.
LG also held a two-way communication technology exchange event sharing 20 research achievements from its researchers and 10 research achievements from the master's and doctoral talents attending the event.

LG invested 4 trillion won in establishing LG Science Park to enable employees to realize innovative ideas in an optimal research environment. LG Science Park, located in Seoul, is the largest single-company R&D convergence research complex, and recently, LG Electronics expanded it by adding four research buildings, making it a research hub where 25,000 employees from eight affiliates collaborate across a total of 26 buildings.
