"Farming Season Begins"... Gyeongnam Nonghyup Holds Pan-Nonghyup Farming Support Launch Ceremony for a Bountiful Harvest
Gyeongnam Nonghyup held an agricultural season kickoff ceremony and rural volunteer activity on June 2 in the Gajo-myeon area of Geochang-gun, together with agricultural organizations and related institutions, to mark the beginning of the farming season and to pray for a bountiful harvest this year.

The ceremony was attended by over 100 people, including Gu Inmo, Mayor of Geochang-gun; Lee Jaewoon, Chairman of Geochang County Council; Choi Jaeho, Chairman of Muhak; Jang Myungseok, Head of Geochang-Hamyang Branch of Korea Rural Community Corporation; Ryu Gilnyeon, Head of Gyeongnam Nonghyup; Cho Cheongrae, Head of NH Nonghyup Bank Gyeongnam Headquarters; Oh Heungseok, Director of the National Agricultural Cooperative Federation (President of Jirisan Cheonghak Nonghyup); Lee Heeyeol, Head of Geochang County Branch; Lee Jaehyun, President of Donggeochang Nonghyup; Shin Hwabeom, President of Bukbu Nonghyup; Kim Pilwoon, President of Gyeongnam Province Homecoming Housewives Association; Hwang Songhee, Vice President of Gyeongnam Federation of Farm Housewives Association; and the National Movement Headquarters for Urban-Rural Coexistence. Participants worked together to help with strawberry greenhouse labor and carried out ESG management practices through environmental cleanup activities such as collecting waste vinyl.
In addition, a social contribution fund donation ceremony was held, and to support the safety and well-being of farmers, Muhak provided first aid kits and Monggo Foods delivered soy sauce sets to the village.
Ryu Gilnyeon, Head of Gyeongnam Nonghyup, said, "Amid the climate crisis and challenges in the agricultural sector, Gyeongnam Nonghyup will do its utmost to provide practical support for labor shortages during the farming season by cooperating with related organizations and university students. We also ask for active interest and participation from local businesses, institutions, and organizations to support the rural workforce."
Meanwhile, Gyeongnam Nonghyup plans to dispatch about 220,000 people to rural sites in 2025 to address labor shortages in rural areas through initiatives such as the Gyeongnam Province University Student Rural Workforce Support Group, the Rural Support Project for Social Service Order Recipients, the Rural Workforce Mediation Center, and the Public Seasonal Worker Project.
