Soyeul Jung, a first-year student at Gwangyang Jecheol High School, donated the 500,000 won prize money from the 'Time to Change the World V x Gwangju City' to support children and families affected by the large wildfire in the Yeongnam region. View original imageThe Green Umbrella Gwangju Regional Headquarters (Director: Byun Junggeun) announced on the 31st that Jung Soyul, a first-year student at Gwangyang Steel High School, donated 500,000 KRW to support children’s families affected by the large-scale wildfires in the Yeongnam region.
This donation was the prize money Jung Soyul received after being selected as a winner in the ‘Time to Change the World V x Gwangju City’ Volunteer Excellence Case Contest. The entire donation was delivered to Green Umbrella and will be used for emergency relief support for children affected by the wildfires.
Jung Soyul said, "I felt so sorry to hear about children my age who lost their homes and are struggling due to the wildfires. I hope the prize money I received can provide some comfort and help to those children."
A representative from the Green Umbrella Gwangju Regional Headquarters stated, "We will ensure that the positive influence of local youth is delivered to those struggling from wildfire damage," and added, "We hope many people will join in supporting this national disaster situation."
