Recruitment of Participating Companies to Continue
The Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Gyeongnam and its member companies have raised and will donate 100 million KRW in relief funds to support victims of wildfires in the Gyeongnam region, which has been designated a special disaster area.
The donation, organized through the Gyeongnam branch of the Korean Red Cross, is intended to support local residents suffering from personal and property damage caused by the wildfires, as well as to express gratitude to the fire authorities who fought tirelessly to protect them from the flames.
Participating in this fundraising effort were Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (20 million KRW), Muhak (50 million KRW), Weltem (10 million KRW), Inhwa Junggong (5 million KRW), SL Electronics (3 million KRW), and Sanghwa (2 million KRW), among other member companies. Considering the urgency of delivering aid, the already raised 100 million KRW will be donated first, with plans to continue fundraising afterward.
Choi Jaeho, Chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the residents affected by this wildfire," and added, "Beyond this donation, we will continue to seek ways to help the affected areas and residents return to their daily lives."
Meanwhile, the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry has actively taken the lead in responding to local hardships, including donating 28 million KRW last year following the fish market fire accident.
