Icheon-si Conducts Emergency Safety Inspection of Ground Stability Near Large Construction Sites
Intensive Inspection Near Large Construction Sites
On the 31st, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that it conducted an emergency safety inspection of underground buried facilities around large construction sites to prevent ground subsidence accidents. This inspection was prompted by growing concerns over sinkhole occurrences near construction sites following a recent ground subsidence accident in Gangdong-gu, Seoul.

The city focused particularly on inspecting the ground safety around large construction sites where underground excavation work is in progress. During the inspection, they thoroughly examined signs of abnormalities in the ground around underground facilities, sections with a high possibility of subsidence, and any ground deformation caused by excavation at the construction sites. Based on the inspection results, the city plans to conduct detailed diagnostics and carry out repair measures.
