Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry to Actively Promote Expansion of Win-Win Cooperation Agreement in Automotive Industry
Support for Leap Incentives for Newly Hired Employees and More
Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced on the 31st that it will officially launch the project to promote the expansion of the win-win cooperation agreement in the automobile industry.
The project to promote the expansion of the win-win cooperation agreement in the automobile industry is part of the region and industry-customized job creation support program supported by Gwangju City and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. It aims to resolve manpower shortages and strengthen industrial competitiveness for local automobile companies.
Last year, a total of 38 companies and 238 people were supported to improve the dual structure of automobile parts manufacturers located in Gwangju, including Hyundai and Kia partner companies.
In particular, the project achieved significant results in creating jobs by encouraging new hires, strengthening retention of current employees, and improving employee satisfaction through better working conditions. As a result, it received the highest national S-grade in the project evaluation.
Through this, a budget of approximately 800 million won has been secured for company support this year. By actively reflecting on-site opinions such as companies' difficulties and necessary support policies, the scale of support will be expanded so that more automobile companies can benefit from the program.
Support details include a leap incentive of 600,000 won per month, up to 3.6 million won per year, for companies hiring new employees (aged 35 to 59) to encourage new recruitment and alleviate labor cost burdens. To promote retention of newly hired employees (aged 18 to 59), a settlement incentive of 1 million won will be provided at 3 and 6 months of continuous employment, up to 2 million won per year.
In addition, to create a stable working environment and improve employee welfare, support will be provided for the improvement of shared facilities (cafeterias, restrooms, break rooms, etc.) and for employee health checkup costs.
A Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry official stated, "As we are expanding the scale of the project this year, we will improve the dual structure of the automobile industry, the region's key industry, and especially strengthen support for secondary and tertiary partner companies. We will actively support the strengthening of win-win cooperation between original equipment manufacturers and partner companies through meetings and councils."
