View original imageEarlier, due to continued dry weather and strong winds, and the national wildfire disaster alert being raised to the ‘Severe’ level, since the 29th, a quarter of the city’s public officials, totaling 441 people, have entered an emergency duty system on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
Accordingly, Mayor Joo Gwang-deok visited Yebongsan and Cheonmasan Mountains to patrol major wildfire-prone areas and inspect the wildfire monitoring emergency duty situation and response system.
Additionally, Mayor Joo conducted publicity and guidance activities emphasizing the importance of wildfire prevention to citizens hiking over the weekend, together with emergency duty personnel.
On that day, wildfire duty personnel, who were deployed in advance to 66 wildfire-prone sites designated by 16 eup, myeon, and dong districts, carried out wildfire prevention publicity and monitoring activities in their respective duty areas.
Mayor Joo Gwang-deok urged the emergency duty personnel to “do their best in wildfire prevention publicity and monitoring activities for the safety of citizens,” and emphasized, “Citizens are requested to refrain from using fire near forests and to strictly follow wildfire prevention rules, as wildfires can occur at any time due to the dry weather.”
