Mega Coffee Joins Price Increase... Americano Up 200 Won
Effective from the 21st of Next Month
Low-cost coffee franchise Mega MGC Coffee announced on the 31st that it will raise the prices of some menu items, including Americano, starting from the 21st of next month. This is the first price increase in 10 years since the brand's launch.
The price of a hot Americano will increase by 200 won, from 1,500 won to 1,700 won. However, the price of an iced Americano will remain at the current price of 2,000 won.
In addition, Halmega Coffee and Halmega Misut Coffee will each increase by 200 won, from 1,900 won and 2,700 won to 2,100 won and 2,900 won, respectively. The large-sized menu items Mega Americano and Wang Halmega Coffee will each increase by 300 won, from 3,000 won and 2,900 won to 3,300 won and 3,200 won, respectively. The price for an additional espresso shot has also risen by 100 won to 600 won per shot.

A representative from Mega MGC Coffee explained, "Over the past year, the price of green coffee beans, which largely determines the cost of coffee beans, nearly doubled, and the soaring exchange rate further intensified cost pressures," adding, "We have consistently received feedback from franchise owners and reflected this in our decision-making process."
