With the wildfire crisis alert at the 'Severe' level in effect, the city extended the operating hours of the wildfire prevention countermeasure headquarters and decided to strengthen weekend on-site mobile crackdowns.
Additionally, during wildfire-vulnerable periods such as Cheongmyeong and Hansik (April 4th to 5th), the city plans to concentrate surveillance personnel and thoroughly enforce safety equipment use and safety rule education for firefighting personnel.
Furthermore, through collaboration between the forestry and agriculture departments, early shredding of farming byproducts will be promoted. Intensive crackdowns will also be conducted focusing on areas prone to arson, such as hiking trails and near cemeteries, and strong punishment for wildfire offenders will continue.
In particular, drone-based wildfire monitoring was conducted on a trial basis. The city deployed drones in key areas such as Changsumeon and undertook wildfire surveillance and crackdown on burning activities.
When dry and strong wind warnings are issued, real-time information is provided via emergency disaster messages, and various methods such as village broadcasts and distribution of wildfire caution leaflets are used to raise citizens' awareness of wildfire prevention.
