Yangsan City Named Best Institution in Comprehensive Local Tax Administration Evaluation
Secured a Project Budget of 300 Million KRW
Yangsan City in Gyeongnam Province was selected as the top institution for tax administration in the "2025 Local Tax Administration Comprehensive Evaluation" conducted by Gyeongnam Province, receiving a governor's commendation and securing a project budget of 300 million KRW.
This evaluation targeted 18 cities and counties within the province, assessing their performance in 22 items across 7 areas throughout 2024, including local tax imposition and collection, arrears management, local tax investigation and review, non-tax revenue imposition and collection, and general tax administration.
In this evaluation, Yangsan City was highly praised for its dedicated management of tax sources, such as conducting planned investigations into tax evasion and operating a special team for tracking and collecting large arrears, which led to an increase in local tax collection. The city also actively implemented various special initiatives that citizens could experience directly, such as last-day tax payment SMS notifications, mobile village tax advisor services, and allowing taxpayers to choose the timing of tax audits.
