Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital Strengthens Rapid Response System for Inpatients
Expansion of Operating Hours and Additional Medical Staff Deployment
Soonchunhyang University Cheonan Hospital announced on the 31st that it will strengthen its rapid response system for inpatients starting in April.
This system, often referred to as "119 within the hospital," enables a rapid response team to immediately respond and provide treatment if an inpatient experiences respiratory distress, shock, cardiac arrest, or similar emergencies.
The hospital has expanded the operating hours of the rapid response team from 16 hours on weekdays to 24/7 coverage, and increased the number of medical staff from 9 to 16.
In particular, to support rapid response, the hospital plans to further advance its early warning system, "MEWs," and the artificial intelligence-based cardiac arrest risk prediction program, "DeepCARS."
Hospital Director Lee Moonsu stated, "Specialized emergency medical staff will provide advanced emergency care, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation," adding, "We will do our best to prevent emergencies among inpatients and ensure patient safety through proactive response."
