BC Card Launches Foreign Currency Prepaid Service on Paybook... "Supports 45 Types of Foreign Currency"
"BC Baro Card and BNK Busan Bank Credit Cards Applied First"
BC Card announced on the 31st that it will launch 'Nae Oehwa Money,' a foreign currency charging and payment service available on its platform 'Paybook,' in collaboration with global payment company Visa and foreign currency payment fintech startup Travelwallet.
Through the Travelwallet foreign currency prepaid service integrated into Paybook, users can use pre-charged foreign currency with BC Baro Card or cards issued by client companies.
A total of 45 types of foreign currencies are supported. Preferential exchange rates are applied through the partnership with Travelwallet. Payments can be made at Visa merchants in over 200 countries. Overseas payment fees and ATM withdrawal fees are also waived.
Currently, foreign currency money-linked cards that can be issued are the Visa-branded 'BC Baro Macao Card,' BNK Busan Bank's 'Oneureun e Credit Card,' and 'POD Card.'
iM Bank is also expected to launch foreign currency money-linked card products in the second quarter.
BC Card plans to expand the range of service-applied products for client companies.
In addition, BC Card will hold a customer event. Until May 31, the first 25,000 customers who charge more than 10,000 KRW worth of foreign currency money, regardless of currency type, will receive 2,000 Paybook Money points.
Among customers who complete foreign currency money charging and apply through the event page, 10 winners will be drawn to receive luxury travel suitcases (1 winner), luxury passport wallets (2 winners), the latest portable gimbal cameras (3 winners), and travel support funds of 200,000 Paybook Money (4 winners, not redeemable via ATM withdrawal or account transfer).
