ACC Foundation Announces Open Call for Creators Residency Participants
The Asia Culture Center (ACC, Acting Director Kim Sangwook) announced on the 31st that it is publicly recruiting domestic and international creators to participate in the "2025 ACC Creators Residency," a convergence and fusion creation and production support program.
Since its opening in 2015, the ACC has been running the "Creators Residency" program for ten years. In particular, it aims to establish a sustainable creation and production platform through the convergence of art and technology, supporting the development, production, and demonstration of projects based on future-oriented and experimental ideas from multidisciplinary experts.
This year's theme is "The Intelligence Age." As artificial intelligence and science and technology advance rapidly, the program seeks to explore, through the convergence of art and science technology, the possibilities of a new era where we coexist with a third intelligence in the world of data. The recruitment fields include: ▲Art & Technology (4 teams) ▲Kinetic Media (1 team) ▲Audiovisual (1 team) ▲Mixed Reality (1 team) ▲Immersive Sound (1 team), with each project receiving a grant of 20 to 30 million KRW depending on the field.
This call for entries, which runs until the 30th of next month, is open to any creator?including artists, experts, researchers, and engineers?who can present new ideas in the art and technology field in line with the theme, and who possess the planning skills, relevant experience, and technical ability to realize experimental projects.
The ACC will conduct a first-round document review and a second-round interview to select a final eight teams (or individuals) in June. Participants will complete their projects over four months starting in August, utilizing the residency program's theme and technology workshops, expert consultations, and access to creation and production studio spaces and equipment.
This year, opportunities will be provided to experiment with various art and technology projects, including a complex studio equipped for kinetic media projects such as laser, lighting, and projection mapping.
The final project outcomes of the participants will be exhibited at the ACC Creation and Production Studio for two weeks starting November 25, marking the 10th anniversary of the ACC's opening. Various programs such as performances, presentations, and workshops will also be offered to the public.
Applicants can register as a member on the ACC website and submit their application form online. Detailed information about the call for entries can be found on the ACC website.
Kim Sangwook, Acting Director of the Asia Culture Center, said, "'The ACC Creators Residency' has established itself over the past 10 years as a convergence and fusion creation and production platform for creative talents worldwide," and added, "We look forward to the active participation of creators who will present experimental content in the future."
