'Shinhan Didim Global EMP' Didim Fund Tops 6-Month Capital Inflow
Shinhan Asset Management announced on the 31st that the Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund ranked first in capital inflow during the six months following the launch of the Didim Fund.
The Didim Fund, launched simultaneously by 25 asset management companies on September 25 last year, has been sailing smoothly with 120 billion KRW raised in six months. The Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund increased by 44.3 billion KRW since its launch, accounting for 37% of the total Didim Fund. This year, it is the only Didim Fund to continuously grow with capital inflows exceeding 20 billion KRW.
The Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund recorded a return of 2.20% since the beginning of the year. It achieved an excess return of 91 basis points (0.91 percentage points) compared to the average return of the Didim Fund. Since inception, the return is 7.21%, outperforming the Didim Fund average by 2.67 percentage points.
The Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund is a balanced fund (BF) product that pursues stable performance over the medium to long term through an asset allocation strategy. By diversifying investments across various assets with different investment risks such as stocks, bonds, and alternative assets, it reduces volatility. The portfolio is periodically adjusted in response to financial market conditions and asset value fluctuations to pursue stable performance.
The outstanding performance can be attributed to the management strategy. It seeks alpha performance through active asset allocation strategies such as adjusting stock ratios and regional allocation.
In response to market changes, it also invests in ETFs of various sectors such as semiconductors, healthcare, and artificial intelligence (AI), and partially invests directly in stocks through company analysis. Additionally, it allocates investment regions in response to macro issues such as interest rates and the dollar. Recently, as the dollar weakness trend has strengthened, it has executed asset allocation to regions outside the U.S., such as Europe and China, contributing to the fund’s performance.
Kwon Soon-gyu, manager of the Global Investment Management Division at Shinhan Asset Management, said, "This year, while the U.S. stock market has been sluggish due to concrete concerns about U.S. tariff policies, the European stock market has shown relatively strong performance."
He added, "From an asset class perspective, bonds have shown good performance during periods when the stock market is weak," noting "they move differently due to economic factors."
He advised, "For the time being, as market volatility increases due to uncertainties regarding U.S. tariffs and other policies, an asset allocation strategy that diversifies investments across various asset classes, regions, and sectors is important."
The Shinhan Didim Global EMP Fund is currently available for subscription at Shinhan Bank, Shinhan Investment Corp., Samsung Securities, Hana Bank, Mirae Asset Securities, Nonghyup Bank, Busan Bank, Korea Investment & Securities, Woori Investment & Securities, Jeju Bank, Mirae Asset Life Insurance, and Kyobo Life Insurance.
