Gyeonggi-do to Support Fertilized Egg Freezing Procedure Costs Regardless of Marital Status Starting April
Support for Fertility Preservation for Men and Women Hoping for Future Pregnancy and Childbirth
Gyeonggi Province announced on the 31st that starting in April, it will support the cost of egg freezing procedures for residents wishing to preserve fertility for future pregnancy and childbirth, regardless of marital status.

View original imageThe ‘Gyeonggi Province Egg Freezing Procedure Support’ project provides a one-time lifetime support of 50% of the pre-examination and procedure costs for egg retrieval, up to a maximum of 2 million KRW, to women aged 20 to 49 who wish to preserve fertility for future pregnancy and childbirth plans.
Eligible applicants are women residing in Gyeonggi Province with a household income at or below 180% of the median income and an ovarian function test (AMH) level of 1.5 ng/ml or less. Unmarried women are also eligible. Applications can be submitted from April 1 through Gyeonggi Minwon 24, and the support is provided as a reimbursement after the egg freezing procedure is completed.
Couples attempting pregnancy and childbirth using frozen eggs after egg freezing can receive partial support for thawing frozen eggs and assisted reproductive technology costs through the ‘Frozen Egg Assisted Reproductive Technology Support’ project, receiving up to 1 million KRW per session, twice per couple.
Additionally, Gyeonggi Province plans to implement the ‘Permanent Infertility Expected Germ Cell Freezing Support Project’ within the first half of the year. Regardless of gender, individuals expected to become permanently infertile due to medical reasons such as chemotherapy or germ cell treatment will receive one-time lifetime support covering pre-examination fees, procedure costs, and initial storage fees (for one year), up to 2 million KRW for women and 300,000 KRW for men. Applications can be submitted online via health centers or e-health centers in the future.
