View original imageHampyeong County, Jeollanam-do, announced on the 30th that the Senior Nabi Sarang Choir, affiliated with the Senior Welfare Center, donated 300,000 won to the Talent Development Fund.
The donated funds were voluntarily collected by 30 choir members who attended the 106th anniversary March 1st Movement commemoration ceremony held in Jeollanam-do on the 1st. The choir members pooled a portion of their transportation expenses to make this donation. During the ceremony, the choir sang the national anthem and the March 1st Movement song, fostering a spirit of patriotism.
Imunja, the choir director, said, "I am grateful just to be able to participate in various community activities with the talents we learned through the welfare center's programs," and added, "Although small, this fund was prepared with the united intention of all choir members for the younger generation of Hampyeong residents, so I hope it will be used meaningfully."
Lee Sangik, the mayor of Hampyeong County, stated, "I am grateful for the warm sharing and interest of our seniors in nurturing local talent," and added, "Through this donation, we will do our best to create a culture where seniors are respected as important members of society."
