Toss Reports Operating Profit of 90.7 Billion KRW Last Year... First Profit Since Establishment
Toss operator Viva Republica has achieved its first profit since its founding.
On the 28th, Toss announced that its consolidated revenue last year reached 1.9556 trillion KRW, a 42.7% increase compared to the previous year, marking an all-time high. Operating profit was 90.7 billion KRW, and net income was 21.3 billion KRW, turning profitable. This is the first profit since the launch of the Toss application in 2015. Toss had been operating at a loss since its founding but posted consecutive quarterly profits for two quarters starting from the third quarter of last year.
As of the end of last year, Toss explained that the monthly active users (MAU) of the app reached 24.8 million, positively impacting the overall business expansion including simple payments, commerce, and advertising.
Along with Toss’s main services, the steady growth of subsidiaries such as Toss Securities, Toss Payments, Toss Income, and Toss Insurance stood out. Toss stated that under the ‘Super app’ strategy, it continuously introduces competitive services in each business sector, strengthening synergy among its affiliates.
