Magnitude 7.3 Earthquake Strikes Inland Myanmar
A magnitude 7.3 earthquake occurred inland in Myanmar.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported that such an earthquake occurred at around 12:50 PM local time on the 28th.
The epicenter was located 248 km north-northwest of the capital, Naypyidaw. It was 33 km west-southwest of Mandalay, the second largest city with a population of 1.2 million. The focal depth was observed at 10 km.
The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) measured the magnitude of this earthquake as 7.4 and estimated the focal depth at 10 km.
