Chungnam Office of Education Holds Event to Share Results of Teacher Exchange Program with Uzbekistan
Four Teachers Explore Cooperation Through Individual Exchanges
The Chungnam Office of Education announced on the 28th that it held the "2024 Uzbekistan Teacher Exchange Achievement Sharing Event" at the Science Education Center on the afternoon of the 27th.
The achievement sharing event was organized to explore future directions for the teacher exchange program by sharing the experiences and achievements gained through the teacher exchange with Uzbekistan.
The teacher exchange program between the Chungnam Office of Education and Uzbekistan was launched to promote mutual growth by cooperating on educational challenges faced by both regions, with exchanges beginning in April last year.
Four current teachers from Uzbekistan have been dispatched to Chungnam and are assigned to schools in Asan with a high concentration of students from Central Asian immigrant backgrounds, supporting educational activities such as teaching, student guidance, and counseling.
In September last year, the Chungnam Office of Education dispatched four elementary and secondary school teachers to Uzbekistan, where they completed assignments including Korean language education, IT education, teacher training, material development, and support for international exchange activities at local schools. They are now working to support the education of students with immigrant backgrounds.
Teacher A, currently on assignment at Dunpo Elementary School in Asan, said, "I have received a lot of help from the staff and am sincerely grateful for their thorough explanations. I will continue to work together with the school to help students with immigrant backgrounds adapt to school life, including student guidance, management, and counseling."
Teacher B, who returned after completing an assignment in Uzbekistan, shared, "I am grateful to the Chungnam Office of Education for giving me the opportunity to guide students, share Korean culture, and carry out my duties in Uzbekistan. It was a valuable experience in my teaching career."
Kim Jicheol, Superintendent of Education, stated, "Through this achievement sharing event, we were able to reaffirm the meaning and value of educational exchange between Korea and Uzbekistan. We will continue to strengthen educational cooperation and communication to further develop the teacher exchange program."
