Considering the nationwide wildfire damage, Changwon City has decided to scale down this year's Jinhae Gunhangje Festival, and the Navy has also decided to cancel its open house events.
The Jinhae Naval Base Command announced on the 28th that, in light of the recent wildfires across the country that have resulted in casualties and left many people displaced, it will reduce the scale of the Gunhangje Festival events this year.

However, this year, with the exception of opening the Ungdong Water Source and providing parking space at the Naval Education Command, the base open house events, warship tours, and various performances have been canceled.
The intention is to focus on supporting the national disaster response instead of holding open house events.
Previously, Changwon City also decided to scale down the festival, expressing condolences to wildfire victims and offering comfort to bereaved families and displaced residents by canceling the Yi Chungmugong Victory Fireworks Show, resulting in a quieter and more subdued atmosphere than in previous years.
An official from the Jinhae Naval Base Command stated, "We express our deepest condolences to the victims of the wildfires and will do our utmost to strengthen our disaster response posture to minimize damage to the public."
