This water quality improvement initiative has been prepared to provide citizens with a cleaner environment and a more pleasant space for relaxation.
The city plans to build a reuse facility near the Water Purification Center in Sinbang-dong and supply clean water to Seongseong Lake Park and Jangjaecheon along the Beonyeong-ro pipeline to improve water quality.
The total project cost is expected to be 28.2 billion KRW, but this year's secured budget is only 3.5 billion KRW, including 2.5 billion KRW from the national government and 1 billion KRW from the local government.
Accordingly, the city recently worked closely with the Ministry of Environment to secure an additional 5.7 billion KRW in national funds, bringing the total to 9.2 billion KRW, and construction is scheduled to begin next month.
Mayor Park Sangdon said, "With the additional national funding secured this time, the project has been accelerated," and added, "We will contribute to improving the quality of life for citizens by providing a clean lake and a pleasant environment."
