Additional 5.5 Billion Won Disaster Special Tax Support for Wildfire-Affected Areas
Additional Grant Following 2.6 Billion KRW Provided on the 23rd
An additional 5.5 billion KRW in special disaster grants will be provided to areas affected by wildfires that simultaneously broke out nationwide since the 21st.
The Ministry of the Interior and Safety announced on the 27th that it will urgently allocate special disaster grants to the three cities and provinces of Ulsan, Gyeongbuk, and Gyeongnam to prevent the spread of wildfires and facilitate early damage recovery.
Previously, on the 23rd, the Ministry had allocated 2.6 billion KRW in special disaster grants to these regions for wildfire response.
This additional support takes into account the rapid increase in firefighting resources deployed and the scale of damage caused by the wildfire spread. The special grants will be used for personnel and equipment for wildfire suppression, disposal of facility debris, and emergency relief for affected residents.
