Korea Exchange Sponsors Children from Single-Parent and Grandparent-Headed Families in Busan Region
On the 27th, the Korea Exchange (KRX) donated 230 million KRW to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation Busan Regional Headquarters to support the growth of children from single-parent and grandparent-headed families.
The donation ceremony held at the KRX Busan headquarters was attended by Jeong Sang-ho, Secretary General of the KRX National Happiness Foundation, Lee Soo-kyung, Head of the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation Busan Regional Headquarters, and other officials.

View original imageThe donated funds will be used to support the educational and basic living expenses of 87 children from single-parent families, providing 2.4 million KRW annually (200,000 KRW per month) until they graduate from high school.
The sponsorship program for connected children began in 2012 as a voluntary initiative by KRX employees who raised funds to help children grow up healthily. It also offers emotional support activities such as cultural experiences and employee meet-up days.
