Dong-gu District in Daejeon announced on the 27th that it will conduct a voluntary fundraising campaign among all employees to help residents affected by the large-scale wildfire quickly return to their daily lives.
The district will carry out the voluntary fundraising campaign until the end of this month, and plans to deliver the collected donations next month through the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, a professional disaster relief organization.
The district is also actively considering volunteer activities to support the practical recovery of wildfire-affected areas, and plans to specify participation measures through future consultations with the central government and related organizations.
Park Heejo, the head of Dong-gu District, said, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victims who lost their homes due to the sudden wildfire," and added, "We will mobilize all available administrative resources to support recovery efforts."
