to Address Illegal Parking of Shared Bicycles and Electric Kickboards
Siheung City in Gyeonggi-do announced on the 27th that it has opened a 'KakaoTalk Open Chat Room' to resolve citizen inconveniences caused by the unauthorized abandonment of shared mobility such as shared bicycles and electric kickboards.
Citizens can access the chat room by searching for 'Siheung City Shared Bicycle & Electric Kickboard Illegal Parking Report Room' or by scanning the QR code attached to promotional materials, then report by writing details such as the time, location, device QR code, and on-site photos.
The chat room operates on weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The targets for reporting are shared bicycles and electric kickboards illegally parked in places that obstruct passage, such as braille blocks, crosswalks, and the center of sidewalks. The city notifies the respective shared bicycle and electric kickboard companies of the reported cases to collect and maintain the devices, and informs the complainants of the action results.
Earlier, on the 19th, a public-private meeting was held to share the city's shared mobility management plan and discuss cooperation measures with each company to solve illegal parking issues. At this meeting, the city requested the cooperation of companies to ensure the prompt relocation and management of abandoned devices.
