Silla University and Sasang District Office Sign MOU for Operation of Sasang-gu Animal Welfare Center

View original imageOn the 26th, at the Shilla University I-URP Project Group, President Heo Namsik, Busan City Sasang District Mayor Cho Byunggil, and key officials from both institutions attended the signing ceremony. The agreement aims to improve animal welfare in the local community and contribute to the development of the companion animal industry through the operation of the Sasang-gu Animal Welfare Center. Following the ceremony, the unveiling of the center's signboard took place.
Shilla University and the Sasang District Office have agreed to strengthen cooperation in several areas: providing personnel and technical support for the operation of the Sasang-gu Animal Welfare Center; developing behavior correction and etiquette education programs for companion animals; offering education and information exchange for local pet owners and animal welfare workers; jointly planning and conducting national research projects; and creating jobs and employment opportunities related to animal welfare.
President Heo Namsik of Shilla University stated, "Animal welfare is becoming an increasingly important value in modern society, and the companion animal industry is a promising field that contributes to regional development. Centered on our Department of Companion Animal Studies, we will nurture professionals with expertise in behavior correction, training, and welfare, and, through cooperation with the Sasang District Office, create a community where animals and people coexist in harmony."
The Sasang-gu Animal Welfare Center is expected to become a key partner, with the Shilla University Companion Animal Industry Specialized I-UPR Project Group supporting its operation. The I-URP Project Group plans to provide professional personnel and technology for the smooth running of the center and to contribute to the improvement of animal welfare through the development of educational programs and community-linked activities.
