Rapid Spread of Wildfire... Korea Forest Service "Re-deploying On-site Helicopters"
The Korea Forest Service resumed the operation of firefighting helicopters on the 26th at 3:30 PM, after temporarily suspending them due to a firefighting helicopter crash.
Considering the urgency of controlling large forest fires, the Korea Forest Service consulted with the pilots and deployed only those who agreed to participate in the missions.
The redeployment of helicopters began with models different from the crashed one. For the 23 helicopters of the same model (S-76), the helicopter owners will conduct their own safety inspections, and if no issues are found, they will be deployed.
