Since early detection and management of dementia are important, dementia screenings are conducted for all local residents, with examination fees supported. In addition, treatment and management costs for dementia are provided to patients and their families to ease their burden, and AI care robots are installed in households at high risk for dementia to address care blind spots.
In addition to dementia support services, a hearing aid support project is being implemented to resolve communication difficulties caused by hearing problems. The county is also promoting the long-term care family leave system to reduce the physical and mental burden on families caring for dementia patients. Information about this system can be obtained through the Damyang branch of the National Health Insurance Service.
A county official stated, "We are doing our best to prevent and manage dementia and to improve the quality of life for dementia patients and their families," and added, "We will strive to ensure that all residents can receive support whenever they need it."
