View original imageChonnam National University announced on the 26th that it held the inauguration ceremony for its 22nd president, Lee Geunbae.
The ceremony, held in the afternoon at Minjumaru Hall of Chonnam National University, was attended by former presidents Ji Byungmoon, Jung Byungseok, and Jung Sungtaek, as well as Gwangju Mayor Kang Gijung, Gwangju Superintendent of Education Lee Jungseon, Chonnam National University Alumni Association President Ryu Hyekyung and former association presidents, Kwangju Bank President Ko Byungil, deans, students, faculty, and staff members?over 300 members of the university community in total.
The inauguration ceremony was hosted by Jung Eunkyung, Director of the Office of Educational Innovation, and Kim Dooun, Vice President for Academic Affairs. The event proceeded in the following order: introduction of President Lee Geunbae's career, handing over of the university key, viewing of a commemorative video, inaugural address, congratulatory speeches from guests, celebratory performances, and a commemorative photo session.
President Lee Geunbae stated, "I am delighted to have the opportunity to serve my alma mater as president after dedicating the past 26 years as a professor," and added, "I will lead Chonnam National University to become a prestigious glocal university that meets the demands of the times while serving as a hub for regional growth."
