Court Grants Injunction to Suspend Disciplinary Action Against Figure Skater in 'Lee Hae-in Body Filming' Case
Former female figure skating national team member A, who was suspended for one year by the Korea Skating Union for taking photos that caused sexual humiliation to Lee Hae-in and showing them to a junior male athlete, has regained her athlete status.
According to the legal community, on the 25th, the 21st Civil Division of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Presiding Judge Kim Jeong-min) granted the provisional injunction to suspend the disciplinary action filed by female figure skater A.
Last May, during a training camp in Italy, A took photos of national figure skating representative Lee Hae-in and showed them to B, who was Lee Hae-in's boyfriend at the time, resulting in a one-year suspension from the union on grounds of sexual harassment and related charges.
The court ruled that it was difficult to definitively conclude that A's act of photographing Lee Hae-in's body constituted an act causing sexual humiliation or disgust. The fact that Lee Hae-in submitted a petition stating that she did not experience sexual harassment also worked in A's favor.
