Daejeon Technopark announced on the 26th that it is recruiting seven companies to participate in the "Drone Industry Ecosystem Development Project" to strengthen demonstration capabilities of drone-related companies and their upstream and downstream affiliates in the Daejeon region.

The project is divided into two sub-projects: one to support the demonstration of drones for civilian use that can be applied to private and public industries and services, and another to support demonstration projects utilizing mobile drone stations.

The support project for civilian drone demonstration will select a total of five companies, providing each with 33 million KRW. Selected companies will receive support for drone manufacturing costs, performance improvement costs, software development and purchase costs, prototype development costs, and operational expenses related to demonstrations.

The mobile drone station demonstration support project will select two companies, each receiving 35 million KRW. Selected companies can use mobile station vehicles for technology development, commercialization, and field application verification in the private drone industry and public services.

Eligible applicants are drone-related companies with headquarters or factories located in Daejeon. Final support companies will be selected through an evaluation process.

Companies wishing to participate in the project can apply online through the Daejeon Business Information Portal by 6 p.m. on the 3rd of next month.

Kim Wooyeon, President of Daejeon TP, said, "Daejeon has a concentrated drone industry infrastructure, making it the optimal location to respond to the rapidly developing drone industry," and added, "We will actively promote demonstrations to strengthen the capabilities of Daejeon drone companies so that Daejeon can play a leading role in building the drone industry ecosystem."
