Pukyong National University Selected for 'Global Advanced Strategic Industry Technology Management Talent Training Project'

More Than 100 Master's and Doctoral Graduates in Global Technology Management to Be Trained
Pukyong National University (President Bae Sanghoon) has been finally selected for the "Global Advanced Strategic Industry Technology Management Professional Training Project" by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology.
This project aims to strengthen the technology management capabilities of small and medium-sized enterprises and foster global technology commercialization professionals by training master's and doctoral-level talent in the field of advanced strategic industries.
Pukyong National University will operate this project in collaboration with the Graduate School of Technology Management (Dean Lee Woonshik) as the lead institution, together with Korea Technology Finance Corporation, Busan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Busan Technopark, Korea Research Institute of Ship and Ocean Engineering, Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement, and Busan Venture Business Association.
With this selection, the Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University will receive 2.5 billion KRW in government funding over the next five years starting this year. Utilizing the technology commercialization capabilities and infrastructure accumulated over the past 14 years through technology management education and research, the school plans to develop specialized educational programs and train more than 100 master's and doctoral-level professionals.
Accordingly, the school will focus on operating specialized educational programs for technology transfer and commercialization in the advanced and core industries of the southeastern region, serving as a hub for technology transfer and commercialization as the central network of regional industry-academia-research collaboration, and expanding the innovation base through cooperation with domestic and international graduate schools and overseas industry-academia-research institutions.
Lee Woonshik, Dean of the Graduate School of Technology Management, said, "Through this project, we will do our best to support the innovative growth of regional industries by achieving a significant technological gap in regionally specialized advanced industries and global open innovation, and to nurture customized talent needed by the region."

The Graduate School of Technology Management at Pukyong National University has been producing technology management professionals for 15 years since launching the Technology Management Cooperative Program in 2011, and has produced over 330 master's and doctoral graduates in technology management to date.
