Gimpo City: "We Will Continue to Improve Satisfaction at the 5-Day Market Through Collaboration with Merchants"
Gimpo City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Byung-su) announced on the 26th that it has formed a local economic recovery TF and has officially started efforts to revive the livelihood economy by beginning with on-site diagnosis through communication with economic agents. The on-site communication meetings started on the 24th and will be held a total of seven times until April 30th. Starting with the 5-day market merchants' association, the city will sequentially meet with local small business owners to listen to their difficulties and problems on-site and seek improvement measures together.
At the merchants' meeting of the 5-day market held on the 24th, the following issues were discussed: ▲ maintenance of aging facilities within the 5-day market (such as water supply facilities) ▲ prohibition of parking within the allowed parking zones for merchant vehicles on market days ▲ acceptance of credit cards at Gimpo 5-day market ▲ relocation issues of Haseong 5-day market. In addition, issues such as parking problems, credit card usage, and waste disposal were also raised.
Previously, Gimpo City improved the environment of the 5-day market by remodeling, including epoxy work in public restrooms and installing restroom heaters, alleviating inconveniences for visitors. However, the city is not satisfied with this and plans to continuously increase user satisfaction of the 5-day market through collaboration with merchants.
Furthermore, in the upcoming on-site communication meetings, the focus will be on establishing practical support measures aimed at stabilizing management and strengthening the competitiveness of small business owners. The opinions discussed in the meetings will also be promoted as economic revitalization policies.
