The Housing Safety Companion public-private partnership project supports vulnerable groups living in poor housing conditions. Since the pilot project in 2022, a total of 77 households have received assistance up to last year.

Through this agreement, Seoul plans to provide administrative support such as selecting households for assistance targeting vulnerable groups. The Living subsidiaries of Hyundai Department Store Group will sponsor up to 300 million KRW for the housing environment improvement project. Among the subsidiaries, Hyundai Livart will be responsible for direct construction of kitchens and bathrooms, Hyundai L&C will sponsor building materials such as windows, flooring, and wallpaper, and Zinus will provide beds and mattresses. Habitat for Humanity Korea will oversee the overall management of the construction sites.

Seoul conducted recruitment for beneficiary households from the 10th to the 21st of this month and plans to select the final recipients next month.

Kim Seong-bo, Deputy Mayor for Administration of Seoul, stated, "Thanks to the participation of the group subsidiaries this year, we are able to expand support for housing-vulnerable groups," and added, "We will strengthen the public-private partnership to realize housing welfare."
