People Power Party expresses "strong regret" over Japan's 'distorted' textbooks and urges immediate correction
The People Power Party expressed "strong regret" on the 25th regarding the claim that Dokdo is Japanese territory included in a significant portion of the social studies textbooks that Japanese high school students will use starting next spring, and urged for "immediate correction."
Senior Spokesperson Shin Dong-wook said in a statement that "it is very concerning as it instills a distorted view of history in the future generation."
Senior Spokesperson Shin emphasized, "Dokdo is clearly the territory of the Republic of Korea from historical, geographical, and international law perspectives," and added, "No matter how much Japan distorts or tries to hide it, the fact that Dokdo is Korean territory does not change."
