On the 24th, the city held the "2nd Task Force Meeting for the Activation of the 2025 Seosan Home Port International Cruise Operation" in the main conference room at City Hall.
This year, the Seosan home port international cruise will depart from Daesan Port in Seosan on May 19 and sail for 6 nights and 7 days, stopping in Taiwan and Japan before arriving at Busan Port.
The itinerary includes, for the first time in Korea, a "cruise overnight" in Taiwan, allowing passengers to enjoy both daytime and nighttime sightseeing over two days, which is drawing much attention.
About 50 people from more than 20 organizations and companies related to international cruise operations, including Mayor Lee Wanseop of Seosan, attended the meeting to check the status of preparations by each organization.
The participants shared their respective support plans to ensure that tourists can enjoy a satisfying visit to Seosan City.

In addition, various issues were discussed to ensure the safety and convenience of tourists, including the operation of tourist information centers, maintenance of Samgilpo parking lot, shuttle bus service in the Daesan area, and the standby of fire and ambulance vehicles.
In particular, the city plans to coordinate in advance with customs, immigration, and quarantine authorities to streamline the boarding process and ensure prompt boarding for tourists without delays.
Mayor Lee Wanseop said, "We will focus our administrative efforts together with related organizations to ensure that the Seosan home port international cruise, which made history last year as the first to open the West Sea route in the Chungcheong region, will operate successfully again this year."
Meanwhile, thanks to the successful operation of last year’s international cruise, the city achieved the feat of being selected as one of Korea’s seven major ports of call, along with Jeju Special Self-Governing Province, Busan Metropolitan City, and others.
