Recruiting Users for Digital Currency-Based 'Deposit Token'
IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced on the 25th that it is recruiting users to participate in the 'Digital Currency Test (Project Hangang)' conducted under the supervision of the Bank of Korea.
Those wishing to participate can apply starting today through i-ONE Bank (personal). Participants will be able to make payments using the 'deposit token,' a payment method, at designated locations such as 7-Eleven, Kyobo Bookstore, Ediya, Hanaro Mart, Hyundai Home Shopping, Mode House, and Ttaenggyeoyo from the 1st of next month until June 30th.
IBK plans to offer benefits for test participants, such as providing a 3,000 KRW 7-Eleven mobile coupon to users who open an electronic wallet through i-ONE Bank (personal), convert a total of 30,000 KRW or more into deposit tokens, and make payments at designated locations at least twice.

An IBK representative stated, “This test will be an important opportunity to gauge the practical applicability of digital currency in daily life,” adding, “We will thoroughly prepare to ensure that customers can safely experience the new digital financial ecosystem and take a leading role in financial innovation based on digital currency.”
