Seoul Citizen Artists Launch Ceremony Held
at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts
"The highest value pursued by Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is to create a happy Seoul where all Seoul citizens become artists."
On the 24th, Ahn Ho-sang, President of Sejong Center for the Performing Arts, said this at the launch ceremony of the 'Everyone' Seoul Citizen Artists held at Sejong Center S Theater. Seoul Citizen Artists refer to citizens participating in various artistic activities organized by Sejong Center as part of its social contribution and educational projects.
Sejong Center began supporting Seoul Citizen Artists activities in 2009 by launching a citizen theater class as part of its social contribution projects. In 2010, the 'Anyone Dream Tree Orchestra' and 'Sejong CEO Choir' were established, and this year, the 'Anyone Companion Chamber Orchestra' was launched, increasing the number of projects involving Seoul Citizen Artists to seven.

President Ahn emphasized, "We initially planned to recruit 25 members for the Anyone Companion Chamber Orchestra, but due to overwhelming applications, we increased it to 35," adding, "Citizen artistic activities are expanding day by day." He further explained, "Now, more than 1,000 citizens annually directly sing, act, and dance, enjoying the arts."
Sejong Center for the Performing Arts is operating various projects that actively support citizens' artistic creation activities by newly branding part of its social contribution projects as 'Everyone' from 2024 to realize 'Cultural City Seoul.' In particular, it helps everyone enjoy the arts and experience the positive effects of art in daily life not only through performances directly participated in by citizens but also through various educational and social contribution projects.
About 180 people, including Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon, officials related to Sejong Center’s social contribution and educational projects, and Seoul Citizen Artists, attended the launch ceremony.
Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon emphasized in his congratulatory speech that Seoul has now become a cultural city envied by people worldwide.
